Girls on the Run of Happy Valley Spring 2013 Community Service Project: Operation Gratitude Operation Gratitude is an organization that supports our armed forces by sending them $15 care packages or letters of appreciation. These packages and letters go out to deployed troops, Wounded Warriors and other military personal away from Part of the community service less that GOTR teaches is for the girls have an understanding of their role in locally and nationally. Community service isn’t just limited to your area but you can help out globally as well. Centre County is one of many communities impacted by service men and women who are willing fight for our country and our freedom. We are choosing to support these soldiers for their commitment to their loved ones and the nation as a whole. Gratitude being a lesson we teach our girls, is something our girls can show these soldiers by appreciating their sacrifice and commitment to the community and nation. Help us and help your GOTR girl learn more about how they can show gratitude to our servicemen and women by supporting this incredible organization. Download the Community Service Projects form for more information. Girls on the Run of Happy Valley Fall 2013 Community Service Project: Coats for Kids Coats for Kids is the Salvation Army’s coat drive for children who don’t have a winter coat this season. Not only can you donate gently used winter coats but the accept scarves, gloves and other winter wear as well. This fundraiser is also sponsored by Mt. Nittany Medical Center, 3WZ Radio and Balfurd Cleaners. There are 21 drop off locations through out Centre County. What could be more beneficial to our GOTR learning about community service than kids helping kids?! It’s important to help your peers and Coats for Kids gives our girls an opportunity to do that. Helping locally is a lesson we teach our girls and by donating to Coats for Kids, our girls are learning about how they can better a child’s life with their old belongings. A great lesson on “one person’s trash is another person’s treasure.” Download the Community Service Projects form for more information.
